Jaipur, Nov 25 (IANS) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday hit out at former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, saying the previous Congress government “crushed the dreams of the youth” by committing unprecedented irregularities in recruitment examinations.
Referring to Gehlot’s tenure, Sharma commented, “Gehlot government crushed the dreams of the youth by leaking 17 out of 19 papers. Officials from his government’s tenure are also working in our government, but the papers are not being leaked.”
He said that this clearly shows that the matter was not about the officials, but about the system and intentions of the previous government.
Sharma stressed that in contrast, the BJP government has ensured a transparent recruitment process. Referring to the recently declared RAS results, he highlighted that the selection of a candidate from a poor farmer and laborer family reflects the fairness and merit-based system under his administration.
He alleged, “During the Gehlot government, relatives of politicians used to get passed.” He claimed that the new government has restored confidence in the recruitment process.
Presenting what he described as the government’s “23-month report card”, Sharma said the administration has worked with a clear roadmap focusing on employment, development and welfare schemes.
He reiterated that the government is fulfilling its promise of providing lakhs of jobs to the youth and the recruitment drives are being conducted with unprecedented transparency.
Addressing the farmers, the Chief Minister, referring to the Kisan Samman Nidhi, said that the farmers will no longer have to chase the officials for updates.
Instead, he said, now when the honorarium arrives their mobile phones start ringing, symbolizing the ease and efficiency brought by direct benefit transfer.
Sharma said that the development work currently visible in Pali is just a glimpse of the larger efforts going on across the state.
He appreciated MLA Pushpendra Singh Ranaut for his contribution in strengthening medical education and improving road connectivity in the area.
The Chief Minister concluded by saying that the government has taken important steps for the youth, farmers, women and marginalized sections and the pace of development initiated in the last twenty-three months will continue in the coming years.
