Patna, November 25 (IANS) With the formation of the new government in Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav family has suffered a big shock.

The state government has officially withdrawn the allotment of the bungalow located at 10, Circular Road from the Lalu family.

The Building Construction Department has issued an order in this regard and allotted bungalow number 39 located on Harding Road, Patna.

The Lalu family has been living in 10, Circular Road bungalow since 2006.

It was originally allotted to former Chief Minister Rabri Devi. However, following the Supreme Court ruling that government bungalows cannot be allotted to former Chief Ministers, the house was later earmarked for the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council.

Since Rabri Devi was on that post, she remained there. Now, the government has canceled that allotment and provided them with new accommodation.

The government has allotted bungalow number 39, Harding Road to the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council.

This means that the current Leader of Opposition Rabri Devi will shift to this newly allotted bungalow and the future Leader of Opposition will also stay here.

Rabri Devi does not use the 10, Circular Road bungalow alone. Along with Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav also lives there.

Although Tejashwi has been allotted a bungalow at 1, Polo Road, as the leader of the opposition in the Assembly, he mainly uses it as his office, and his close aide Sanjay Yadav lives there.

In such a situation, Tejashwi is also expected to move away from 10 Circular Road.

After losing power in 2005, the Lalu family started living at 10, Circular Road. Several modifications and new structures were added over the years, including a conference room and additional living space.

There is a strong claim in political circles that BJP has insisted on eviction of Lalu family from the prestigious bungalow.

Earlier, when the Supreme Court had banned the allocation to former Chief Ministers, Rabri Devi’s continuation in the House had become uncertain.

However, Nitish Kumar had ensured that the allocation remained in his name by adjusting it under a different category.

However, this time the NDA government—especially the BJP—is believed to have taken a tough stance.

Reacting to the development, RJD spokesperson Ajaz Ahmed accused the new NDA government of political vendetta.

He alleged that ever since the government came to power, it has been working with a spirit of revenge and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is working under pressure from the BJP.
