Jammu, Nov 23 (IANS) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha on Sunday directed security forces to adopt a 360-degree approach to counter terrorism with a massive crackdown on terrorist financing, narco-terror links, overground workers (OGWs) and supporters, so as to destroy the entire support system of terrorists.
The Lieutenant Governor on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security situation in Jammu division.
Chief Secretary Atal Dullu was present in the meeting; Nalin Prabhat, Director General of Police; SJM Geelani, Special Director General (Coordination), Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters; Chandrakar Bharti, Principal Secretary, Home; Nitish Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, CID; Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor; Bhim Sen Tooti, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu; Ramesh Kumar, Jammu Divisional Commissioner; M. Suleman Chaudhary, Traffic IGP; Deputy Inspector General of Police, Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police of Jammu Division.
LG Sinha congratulated J&K Police for meticulous investigation and prompt response in dismantling the pan-India terror network.
“Our 360-degree approach to counter terrorism with a massive crackdown on terrorism financing, narco-terror links, over ground workers (OGWs) and sympathizers is focused on dismantling the entire support structure to terrorists,” the LG said.
LG Sinha said, “Our coordinated efforts will ensure that the remnants of the terror ecosystem are completely eliminated from Jammu and Kashmir.”
He directed the officials to remain alert and vigilant towards emerging security challenges.
He stressed on the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism and asked the authorities to take strictest action against terrorist supporters, OGWs and terrorist elements trying to radicalize the youth.
He directed the officials to intensify intelligence-based operations against terrorists and make concerted efforts to keep an eye on the digital platforms being used by terrorist organizations for radicalization and funding.
The security review meeting on Sunday was held after the November 10 blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, in which a terrorist detonated his explosives-laden car, killing 15 civilians and injuring 10 others.
The Red Fort blast came after the Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with Haryana Police busted a white-collar terror module in Faridabad.
