Kolkata, Nov 23 (IANS) Inspired by the massive electoral success in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly elections, the BJP central leadership is planning to launch a high-profile campaign for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections from next month, involving both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The initial plan, as of now, is to hold at least two mega public rallies every month in the state till the next month till the voting date for the assembly elections in West Bengal is announced in 2026. Of the two monthly rallies, one will be addressed by the Prime Minister and the other by the Union Home Minister.
“After the poll dates are announced, the frequency of such monthly public meetings will increase. Our state party president, Samik Bhattacharya, will be in Delhi this week to finalize the tentative dates and venues of the two monthly rallies till the poll dates are announced. Efforts will be made to hold such rallies at any venue that cover more than one district at a time,” said a BJP member of a state committee in West Bengal.
At present, the BJP is eyeing the election campaign in West Bengal in a phased manner by dividing the party into five organizational areas.
Soon after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA)’s massive victory in Bihar, state and central leaders of the party raised the slogan – “After Odisha in 2024 and Bihar in 2025, there will be Bengal in 2026”.
Political analysts here believe that the BJP’s plan to hold mega campaign rallies in West Bengal so soon, involving the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister, proves that the slogan “After Odisha in 2024 and Bihar in 2025, there will be Bengal in 2026” was not just a war-cry and also proves how seriously the central BJP leadership is taking the West Bengal elections.
The BJP state committee member said that apart from physical campaigning, the party’s state leadership is also focusing on digital campaigning extensively this time, though its newly launched and Bengal-dedicated website “namoyavawarriors.com”, which was officially launched earlier this month.

The objectives include eliminating corruption and creating a transparent recruitment process in state government jobs, providing a safe academic environment in colleges and universities that will be free from ragging, crimes against women and syndicates cutting admissions and restoring the past economic glory of the state through new investments, new entrepreneurs and skill development and creating jobs for the youth and preventing forced migration of skilled youth to outside jobs.
