team news
Sam Prendergast has been retained by Andy Farrell at flyhalf ahead of Jack Crawley as the pair continue to battle for the No.10 shirt. Gary Ringrose is fit to return alongside Bundy Aki in the centres, and Josh van der Flier is also back in the middle of things on the flanks as captain Kellan Doris returns to the base of the scrum.
Andrew Porter has been restored to the starting team in the loose forward position and Paddy McCarthy has taken up the replacement role.
South Africa have brought back several first-choice starters after a poor performance against Italy. Franco Mostert was available after having his red card rescinded, but Ruan Nortje and Eben Etzebeth missed out on uniting in the second row, while Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu took over from André Pollard at fly half.
On the bench, RG Snyman is set to gain fifty caps from a replacement unit that also includes Andre Esterhuizen, who will continue in his hybrid flanker/centre cover role.
