Bhopal, Nov 20 (IANS) PM Shree Heli Tourism Services, the first of its kind in Madhya Pradesh, is set to transform the state’s potential as a tourist destination as it launches helicopter services to promote religious and nature tourism.
With the launch of this service, devotees and tourists can reach major religious, natural and wildlife tourist destinations within minutes. The most important feature of the service is that darshan of Ujjain and Omkareshwar Jyotirlingas can now be completed in a helicopter journey of 20-40 minutes, whereas the Bhopal-Pachmarhi journey can be completed in just one hour.
In the first helicopter service, five tourists from Bhopal reached Madhai.
MP Maya Narolia, present on the occasion, thanked Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for this unique initiative and said that this service will be very beneficial for both tourists and local people.
He said, “Both Madhai and Pachmarhi are special places for tourists. Now the journey of three to four hours will be completed in just thirty to thirty-five minutes.”
District Panchayat Narmadapuram CEO Himanshu Jain said that this helicopter service will not only be helpful for tourists but will also promote tourism in the area.
He said, “From Bhopal, Madhai can be reached in 40 minutes and from Madhai, Pachmarhi can be reached in 15 minutes. This service will provide great convenience to the tourists and will strengthen the tourism industry of the district.”
The official start of the service was witnessed with enthusiasm among the pilgrims and tourists. With the new helicopter service, devotees will now be able to visit Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga in Ujjain and Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga near Mandleshwar directly from Indore. Additionally, major nearby tourist destinations have been added to the service, allowing travelers to experience both religious and natural beauty in a shorter period of time.
The administration believes that in future more religious and historical sites will be included in this helicopter route. According to officials, this service will operate five days a week. Passengers will have the freedom to choose their slot as per their convenience to avoid the hassle of crowd and long journey.
After taking off from Indore, the devotees will be taken to the helipad near the temples, from where they will be taken to the temples. This will provide special relief to the elderly, disabled and passengers unable to travel long distances. Booking for this service is available completely online. Passengers can select the date, time and destination of their journey on the digital platform.
