Ahmedabad, Nov 20 (IANS) The Ahmedabad district election administration is conducting Special Intensive Revision of Voter List (SIR) 2025 and special camps will be organized at all 5,524 polling stations from 9 am to 1 pm on November 22 and 23 for the convenience of citizens.
During these camps, voters can collect and submit the counting forms directly at their respective polling stations. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present to provide on-the-spot guidance regarding the voter list and SIR processes, ensuring clarity for anyone facing any issues or confusion.
The Election Commission of India is currently conducting the SIR considering January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. As part of the ongoing counting phase, efforts are underway to ensure that not a single eligible voter is left out of the voter list in any of the 21 assembly constituencies of Ahmedabad city and district.
Under the supervision of District Election Officer and Collector Sujit Kumar, the administration is carrying out intensive field work, especially in areas undergoing redevelopment, demolition or displacement, so that all eligible citizens can update or include their names.
District Election Officer and Collector Sujit Kumar, while appealing to the public, urged all the voters of Ahmedabad city and district to take maximum advantage of the special camps and complete their election formalities on time.
The election administration conducts Special Intensive Review (SIR) to ensure that the electoral roll remains accurate, up-to-date and inclusive before the elections.
Through this exercise, officials verify existing entries, remove duplicate or invalid names, and add new eligible voters – particularly young citizens who have recently turned 18, the migrant population and those previously left out.
SIR strengthens the integrity of voter rolls, prevents misconduct, and guarantees that every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right to vote without hindrance.
By verifying entries through door-to-door checks, public camps and online submissions, SIR strengthens the integrity of the democratic process, ensuring that every eligible citizen is able to vote without hindrance and that the voter list truly reflects the current population.
