Patna, November 18 (IANS) Before the formation of the new government in Bihar, political turmoil has intensified and the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be held on November 20 at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
Preparations for the ceremony are being done on a grand scale.
Before the ceremony, both BJP and JDU will hold important internal meetings on November 19.
The meeting of JDU MLAs will be held at 11 am at the residence of Minister Shravan Kumar, while a separate meeting of BJP will also be held at the party’s state headquarters in Patna.
After these two meetings, there will be a joint meeting of the NDA Legislative Party in the Central Hall of the Assembly, in which Nitish Kumar will be formally elected the leader of the NDA Legislative Party.
After being elected, Nitish Kumar will go to Raj Bhavan and formally stake claim to form the government.
On November 20, Nitish Kumar will take oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time, which will be a historic milestone in the politics of Bihar.
This event is being organized as a grand festival. Among the high-profile attendees will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, several Union ministers, chief ministers of several states, senior NDA leaders and dignitaries.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar went to Gandhi Maidan and personally inspected the arrangements.
He was accompanied by prominent NDA leaders including Samrat Chaudhary and Nitin Naveen as well as senior officials, including Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar, Patna District Magistrate Thiagarajan SM, Senior Superintendent of Police Karthikeya K Sharma and several officials overseeing the preparations.
It is in full swing to ensure that the ceremony goes off smoothly and with grandeur.
NDA leaders hope that around three lakh people will attend the swearing-in ceremony.
