milwaukee bucks All-Star Forward giannis antetokounmpo He could potentially be out for an extended period of time after suffering a left groin strain during Monday night’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coach Doc Rivers did not provide an immediate update after the Bucks’ 118-106 loss, except he confirmed that Antetokounmpo will undergo an MRI scan on his left groin.

“We won’t know anything until tomorrow. It wasn’t looking good, I can tell you that,” Rivers said.

Antetokounmpo walked off the court after being fouled with just over three minutes remaining in the second quarter and went straight to the locker room.

He contributed 14 points, five rebounds and four assists in only 13 minutes of play. Rivers suggested the injury may have occurred before the match.

“I think in the first quarter he grabbed her waist, and I asked her right away. She said it was OK. Then I think he grabbed her again and said it was OK. And then the third time, you know, that’s when it happened. But I think that’s happened before in my opinion,” Rivers explained.

The 14-year veteran, who leads the Eastern Conference and ranks fourth in the league in scoring with an average of 31.2 points per game, was listed as probable for the first game due to left knee patellar tendinopathy.

The Bucks have seen a decline in their season recently, starting 4–1 but losing six of their last ten contests, including a 1–3 record during their most recent four-game stretch in six days.

With a few days off before their next game on Thursday against Philadelphia, Rivers acknowledged the challenges ahead.

He commented, “We have some work to do.” “There’s always a silver lining. I don’t know what it is. It’s not looking good right now.”

“But we’re either going to find someone or find something to run that will pay off later, and that’s what we’re going to go through.”
