“The day celebrates the culture, reverence and brotherhood of Fiji and the seven South Pacific Island countries, reflecting the deep and enduring friendship between India and Fiji,” an official statement issued on Tuesday said.
The event marked the culmination of 100 countries uniting in celebration under the universal message of One World One Family that embodies the values of unity, oneness, faith and shared humanity. The statement said His Majesty described the gathering at Sathya Sai Gram as an unprecedented expression of harmony, love and service, which exemplifies what the world needs today.
The President expressed his deep appreciation for the humanitarian initiatives being undertaken through the Sai Prema Foundation in India and the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital in Fiji. Since 2016, he said, these efforts have transformed lives by providing 421 free pediatric heart surgeries, serving 4.59 million meals and benefiting more than 150,000 people through free heart check-ups and medical services.
Speaking about the “commercialization of healthcare”, he said that the established model of completely free, compassionate and world-class healthcare at Sathya Sai Gram represents one of the greatest services to humanity. He said what is happening in Muddenahalli is truly unprecedented and can serve as a model for developing countries, capable of uplifting the lives of millions of people.
He also reaffirmed the Fiji Government’s strong commitment to the work of the Mission, and assured that the Fiji Government will extend its full support to Sadhguru Madhusudan Sai in whatever support he requires. He stressed that the collaboration between Fiji and One World One Family Mission will continue for the benefit of the people of Fiji and the wider Pacific region.
Expressing his gratitude, Sadhguru Madhusudan Sai affirmed that the Mission is committed to serving the people of Fiji, the Pacific Islands and around the world, reiterating that One World One Family is not just a statement but a lived reality demonstrated through collective action.
The day’s proceedings included a traditional ‘iTaukei’ ceremonial welcome celebrating the enduring bond and shared heritage between India and Fiji and an engaging cultural performance by the Primanaviya group of Fiji.
The President of the Republic of Fiji will be in India till November 23 at the Sathya Sai Gram to attend the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
