New Delhi, Nov 15 (IANS) In a major development, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has intensified its investigation into Al Falah University and registered two FIRs against the university as part of the ongoing investigation into the November 10 Delhi bomb blasts.
According to Delhi Police, the crime branch has filed two separate FIRs against the university – one under sections related to fraud and the other under provisions related to forgery.
A crime branch team visited the Okhla office of the university on Saturday and asked for important documents after issuing a formal notice to the institute.
Officials said the action is part of a broader investigation into possible improprieties involving individuals associated with the university.
Meanwhile, fresh information has emerged from Nuh, where Dr Omar was reportedly seen wandering for several hours before the blast that claimed his life.
Sources say that he had rented a room behind Goyal Ultrasound Center in Nuh for 10 days.
The room, rented from a local woman, was arranged with the help of an electrician named Shoaib, identified as a staff member of Al Falah University.
Following the blast, teams from Delhi Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Nuh raided the rented accommodation, which was found locked.
Investigators suspect that this may provide important clues to understand Dr. Omar’s activities and possible connections in the area.
At present the CCTV footage of Goyal Ultrasound Center is being examined.
Initial input suggests that the i20 car involved in the explosion is visible in the footage, potentially helping to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the incident.
Sources say that several raiding teams of NIA, Delhi Police and Haryana Police are continuously conducting raids at various places in Nuh and surrounding areas to trace people who may have contact with Dr Umar or who may be associated with the blast.
With the crime branch turning its attention to Al Falah University and investigators uncovering new details in Nuh, the scope of the investigation appears to be expanding rapidly.
