A man has reportedly been charged impersonate a British military officer During a Remembrance Sunday event.
North Wales Police said they arrested a man on Friday after he was seen wearing “the uniform and medals of a high-ranking naval officer” during a wreath-laying service in Llandudno, Conwy, on Sunday 9 November.
Jonathan Carley, 64, of the Harlech area of Gwynedd, has been charged with wearing uniform and dress bearing Her Majesty’s Army insignia without permission.
Accordingly, he is due to appear at Caernarfon Magistrates Court on Thursday To North Wales Police.
Chief Inspector Tristan Bevan said: “We understand this incident has caused public concern, particularly given its occurrence on Remembrance Sunday.

“In response to reports made North Wales Police officers have responded swiftly to make arrests and move forward with charges.
“We urge members of the public to refrain from speculating online and refrain from sharing any material that could compromise future court proceedings.”
