Patna, Nov 14 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) President Nitish Kumar on Friday expressed his deep gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the voters of Bihar, as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) moves towards a historic mandate in the 2025 assembly elections.
In a statement issued after the NDA crossed the 200-seat mark in the 243-member assembly in the latest trends, Kumar said the people of Bihar have “reaffirmed their faith” in the NDA government.
He said, “The people of the state have expressed their trust in our government by giving us an overwhelming majority in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025. For this, I salute all the respected voters of the state and express my heartfelt gratitude.”
Thanking Prime Minister Modi for his support, he said, “I bow to the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and express my heartfelt gratitude for the support received from him.”
Kumar also attributed the victory to unity and coordination within the NDA.
“The NDA alliance has demonstrated complete unity and won a thumping majority in this election. Thanks and gratitude also to all our alliance partners – Shri Chirag Paswan ji, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi ji and Shri Upendra Kushwaha ji for this victory. With the support of all of you, Bihar will move even further and move towards becoming one of the most developed states in the country.”
He tagged his post to PM Modi, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha.
JD(U), the main pillar of the NDA in Bihar, has already won 48 seats and is leading in 36 others, taking its tally to 84. The party fought the elections in alliance with the BJP and regional allies including HAMS, RLM and LJP(R).
The NDA’s underwhelming performance has left the opposition faction – the Grand Alliance – struggling, with its tally hovering around 35 seats – one of its worst performances ever.
