Patna, November 14 (IANS) NDA’s landslide victory in Bihar has surprised the opposition and Madhubani district has played a major role in this mandate.
Of the nine assembly constituencies, the NDA secured eight seats, while the RJD managed to win only one seat – Bifsi.
Harlakhi: JDU candidate Sudhanshu Shekhar has won the Harlakhi assembly seat of Madhubani district. After 27 rounds of counting, he defeated CPI’s Rajesh Kumar Pandey by a margin of 36,236 votes.
Babubarhi: Babubarhi is another seat where JDU candidate won the electoral battle by a margin of 17568 votes. Here JDU candidate Meena Kumari defeated RJD candidate Arun Kumar Singh.
Bifsi: Bifsi is one of the seats where RJD managed to win the elections. RJD candidate Asif Ahmed defeated BJP’s firebrand leader Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul by a margin of 8107 votes. Madhubani: RLM’s Madhav Anand defeated RJD’s Sameer Kumar Mahaseth by 20552 votes. Mahaseth was a cabinet minister in the grand coalition government.
Rajnagar: BJP candidate Sujit Kumar defeated RJD candidate Bishnu Dev Mochi by a margin of 42185 votes.
Jhanjharpur: Former Industries Minister Nitish Mishra defeated CPI’s Ram Narayan Yadav by 54849 votes.
Phulparas: Former JDU cabinet minister Sheela Kumari defeated Congress’s Subodh Mandal by 14099 votes. Sheela was the transport minister in the previous Nitish Kumar government.
Laukaha: JDU’s Satish Kumar Mandal defeated RJD’s Bharat Bhushan Mandal by 25511 votes.
Benipatti: BJP’s Vinod Narayan Jha won the seat by defeating RJD’s Nalini Ranjan Jha by a margin of 23932 votes.
Khajauli: BJP’s Arun Shankar Prasad won this seat. He has defeated RJD’s Braj Kishore Yadav by a margin of 13126 votes.
