Agartala, Nov 14 (IANS) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday said the people of Bihar united to prevent the return of ‘Jungle Raj’ and voted for development under the NDA.

Reacting to the ongoing vote counting in Bihar Assembly elections, the Tripura Chief Minister claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is headed towards a significant victory in Bihar, adding that people have rejected “jungle raj and goonda raj associated with RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav”.

He further said that West Bengal will be the next state where major political changes are expected early next year.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the inauguration of a private university on the outskirts of Agartala and laying the foundation stone of infrastructure and allied facilities, CM Saha expressed confidence about the political trend in Bihar.

“In Bihar, a big victory is expected. I myself was there and campaigned in three assembly constituencies in the Champaran region. The information I have is that the NDA is leading in all three seats. This is just the tip of the iceberg and shows what is going to happen,” he said.

Congratulating the central leadership, he said, “I would like to congratulate the entire team led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, National BJP President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for working together for this excellent result. Lalu ji (former Bihar CM) and others cannot return because everyone is aware of their crime and hooliganism, which people do not like.”

Former Tripura state president of BJP CM Saha said, “During my Bihar election campaign last month, I was 100 per cent sure that the people of Bihar will never allow ‘jungle raj’ here again because they want development, which only the BJP can give.”

Describing West Bengal as ‘BJP’s next target’, CM Saha said, ‘Change is going to happen in Bengal. If Bengal can be liberated then the entire image of India will be completely different.

The Chief Minister’s comments come amid the ongoing political discussion in several key states, where the NDA is hoping to increase its influence.

A large number of BJP leaders, members and workers celebrated the party’s election victory in Bihar.

Former minister Bhagwan Das, state BJP vice president Papia Dutta, district president Asim Bhattakarjee and media-cell in-charge Sunit Sarkar, among others, participated in the ‘Bijoy Utsav’ (festival of victory).
