The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the largest party with 91 seats, and its ally Janata Dal (United) or JDU, led by current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, came second with 83 seats. Another ally, Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) or LJP, performed brilliantly for the alliance.
Other BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and national president JP Nadda, praised the performance of the contesting leaders and described the victory as a verdict of Bihar voters in favor of “good governance” and a victory for development in the state.

My deepest gratitude to the family members of Bihar, who blessed the NDA with a historic and unprecedented victory in the 2025 assembly elections. This resounding public mandate will empower us to serve the people and work with new determination for Bihar.”
Home Minister Amit Shah: “Heartfelt salute to the people of ‘Bihar Bhoomi’, protectors of knowledge, hard work and democracy. This tremendous mandate given by the people of Bihar to the NDA is the people’s seal of approval on the committed service of the NDA for development, women’s safety, good governance and welfare of the poor in Bihar… This mandate is for the resolve of ‘Developed Bihar’.”
BJP President JP Nadda said, “Heartfelt greetings to the people of Bihar. Jai Siya Ram. The historic public support received by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar is a seal of public confidence in the development-oriented and public welfare policies of the double engine government… This unprecedented mandate will materialize our resolve of ‘Developed Bihar-Developed India’… I heartily congratulate all the members of the NDA parties and the dedicated and hardworking workers of Bihar BJP. LJP’s Chirag Paswan told reporters, “This victory has put a full stop to the misconceptions that the opposition had tried to spread, be it the SIR issue or the allegations of ‘vote-stealing’.
