Mumbai, November 14 (IANS) Mahayuti allies on Friday praised the NDA’s stellar performance in the Bihar assembly elections.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the people of Bihar have adopted “Vikas Raj” and rejected “Jungle Raj”.

Reacting to the Bihar Assembly results, Shinde, whose Shiv Sena is an NDA ally, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

He said, “Bihar voted for development under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and PM Modi. Similarly, women (girls, sisters) ensured that NDA gets a massive victory like Maharashtra.”

He said the large participation of women in the voting process helped the NDA win.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, “Bihar has voted for good governance and a progressive future by electing the NDA to lead the state and its people. Congratulations to Honorable Prime Minister Shri @NarendraModi ji, Union Minister Shri @AmitShah ji, Chief Minister Shri @NitishKumar and the entire NDA on this victory.”

Revenue Minister and former state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “The landslide victory of the BJP-led NDA in the Bihar Assembly elections is a testament to the strong faith that the people of Bihar have placed in development, good governance and stability.

“This victory is another confirmation of the immense public support received under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri @NarendraModi Ji. The people of Bihar have risen above caste, creed and religion and have chosen the path of development, a firm path of progress and a bright future.

“Through this victory, the people of Bihar have appreciated the development work done so far by the NDA government. This unique victory has been achieved by the leadership, planning and tireless efforts of Union Home Minister Honorable @AmitShah bhai, BJP National President Honorable @JPNadda ji and key NDA ally, Janata Dal (United) leader, @NitishKumar ji. In this election, Chief Minister Honorable @Dev_Fadnavis ji also campaigned vigorously in Bihar.”

Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan said the Bihar Assembly election results show that the Congress has been rejected across the country as voters supported the NDA to retain power in the state.

“One needs to understand that the Congress party is being rejected across the country,” Chavan told reporters at the BJP state headquarters, reacting to the Bihar decision.

Referring to the Rashtriya Janata Dal led by former chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav, Chavan said the elections in Bihar were basically a contest against the possible return of ‘jungle raj’.

He said that the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar and the joint efforts of PM Modi helped the alliance to achieve victory.

“The elections were projected as a tough contest between the opposition and the ruling alliance, but the real contest turned out to be between independent candidates and the Congress,” he said sarcastically.

Responding to Congress’ allegations of vote theft, Chavan said these were attempts to create a fake narrative during the campaign. He said that after a comprehensive investigation by the Election Commission, many issues became clear.

“The way Rahul Gandhi tried to present the issues has proved to the people how unimportant they really are,” he said. Chavan further claimed that the results gave a clear indication of what would happen in Mumbai. He said the Modi government has given adequate financial support for projects like metro and coastal road, and claimed that the city will vote for Mahayuti.

IT Minister and BJP leader Ashish Shelar posted on Instagram celebrating NDA’s victory in Bihar. “Voters have rejected the allegations of vote tampering, EVM tampering and fake voters,” the BJP minister said.

He said voters in Maharashtra and Mumbai will soon give a similar verdict, expressing confidence in PM Modi’s leadership. Shelar thanked the people of Bihar for giving a decisive mandate to the NDA and congratulated the party leaders, office-bearers, workers and volunteers for their efforts.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, in his reaction, said, “There is no need to be shocked by the Bihar assembly election results. Given the national agenda being jointly run by the Election Commission and the BJP, a different result was not possible! A complete Maharashtra pattern! Those who were certain to come to power were wiped out within 50 days.”
