Hyderabad, Nov 14 (IANS) Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and leaders of various political parties greeted children on the occasion of Children’s Day on Friday.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy remembered great freedom fighter and the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister greeted all children on the occasion of National Children’s Day, which is celebrated every year on a grand scale to commemorate Nehru’s birth anniversary.
CM said that the state government is fulfilling the aspirations of Nehru, considering children as national assets and working for their better future.
He said the “people’s government”, inspired by Nehru that today’s children are tomorrow’s citizens, introduced several reforms in the school education sector.
CM Revanth Reddy also said that the government is making efforts aimed at strengthening the education sector and stressed that the progress of the poor and weaker sections is possible only through education. CM appealed to everyone to contribute in making children better citizens in the society.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wished all the children. He said that to empower and enable the generation of tomorrow in every way, the coalition government is continuously working to pave a golden path for their future.
He said, “Providing education to children contributes to their all-round development. That is why, through Talli’s Vandanam scheme, we are encouraging all parents to send their children to school. Even in the mid-day meal scheme, we are ensuring that the menu includes things that children like.”
CM Naidu said that the government has named children’s schemes after inspirational personalities.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also wished the children on National Children’s Day. He said, “Innocent and pure hearts are only for children. There should be a healthy environment around children to promote good thoughts. From the school level, free and joyful conditions should be created to promote their mental development.”
The Deputy CM underlined the need to provide education imbued with moral values. He called for teaching the values of the country’s culture and traditions. “Only then will the future citizens be socially responsible, patriotic and mentally strong. The coalition government is taking up this responsibility,” he said.
YSR Congress Party President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, while wishing the children, said that quality education and exposure to the world inspires children to dream big. “We must guide them on that path and ensure that they are empowered to realize their full potential in realizing the dreams of a vibrant, strong and progressive India.”
