Alcaraz, 22, could still finish the best season of his career on a high and is on track to meet Sinner in the final of the ATP Finals after advancing to the last four.

Alcaraz won Grand Slam titles at Roland Garros and the US Open, and enjoyed great form over the summer, where she reached nine consecutive finals between April and September.

His eight titles are already the most won in a season, while his victory over Sinner in the Roland Garros final, saving three championship points, was his most memorable match of the year.

Alcaraz became the youngest No. 1 in 2022 after winning her first Grand Slam title at the US Open at the age of 19 and has achieved the position for the second time in a year. Where Sinner was banned for three months,

“Honestly, it means the world to me,” Alcaraz said. “No. 1 at the end of the year is always a goal. At the beginning of the year, I saw No. 1 really far away [with] Janik wins almost every tournament he plays.
