New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS) Virtually dismissing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegation of ‘vote theft’, election analyst and CMD of Axis My India (AMI) Pradeep Gupta said his team did not find any complaint of voter list manipulation during the recent exit polls in Bihar.

Sharing the findings of the exit poll, Gupta said, “We visited every assembly constituency of Bihar for the survey and spoke to people, but no one complained of ‘vote theft’.”

“We have nothing to do with where Rahul Gandhi lives or what he does. We only know public opinion. The Congress party is very small in the context of Bihar.”

According to Axis My India exit poll estimates, the NDA is likely to get 43 per cent vote share, while the MGB is seen contenting with 2 per cent less vote share at 41 per cent.

It said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to return to power in Bihar, but with a narrow margin over the RJD-Congress-led Grand Alliance (MGB).

The AMI exit poll has predicted that the Nitish Kumar-led NDA will win between 121 to 140 seats, the grand alliance may win 98-118 seats, while the Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraj Party is expected to win between 0-2 seats in the 243-member assembly.

The highlight of the exit polls is that the Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD is emerging as the largest party in the high-stakes assembly elections with 67-76 seats on its own, effectively registering a strike rate of over 50 per cent.

Confirming his team’s exit polls, Gupta claimed that in the last 12 years, Axis My India has shared projections for 80 elections, of which the findings have been correct in 74 cases.

In a video posted on his X account, Gupta said, “An exit poll is important to determine the factors that influence a particular section of voters to vote in a certain pattern.”

Regarding election issues, Gupta said that in the assembly elections, issues related to roads, electricity, water, health, education, law and order and farmers influence the voters.

He said that the primary issue in Bihar elections has been the performance of the present government. What promises did the government make in the last elections and how many of them were fulfilled? These are the factors that are the basis of anti-incumbency and pro-incumbency waves.

He said that unemployment and migration are big problems in Bihar. Unemployment was also a big issue in this election.
