New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS) The Eastern Command of the Indian Army, along with the Indian Air Force, is conducting an integrated multi-domain exercise in the rugged high altitude terrain of the Himalayas in Arunachal Pradesh.
The exercise, which began on November 10, began with the deployment of advanced surveillance resources including helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) along with space assets and special forces to create seamless domain awareness and detect simulated targets.
This important exercise will continue till 15 November.
According to PRO Defense, “Once identified, these targets will be rapidly destroyed through the synchronized combined firepower of long-range rocket systems, medium artillery, armed helicopters, swarm drones, hovering weapons and kamikaze drones in an electronically contested environment.”
Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding, 3 Corps, reviewed the exercise on 13 November and appreciated the seamless coordination and operational preparedness of the formations participating in the exercise.
The exercise is a continuation of Exercise Purvi Prahar held in November 2024 and Exercise Prachanda Prahar held on March 25, which focused on integrated application of aviation assets.
The exercise Eastern Prachanda Prahar will validate integrated planning, command and control as well as seamless execution of surveillance and fire platforms across the three services covering the entire spectrum of conflict.
It underlines the unwavering commitment of the Armed Forces to jointness, precision and technological superiority and strengthens the ability to execute multi-domain operations with unparalleled synergy, thereby ensuring India’s preparedness to deter and decisively deal with any emerging threat on its strategic borders.
Notably, Indian security forces launched the tri-service exercise Trishul on 3 November, involving key assets of the Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Army.
According to defense officials, this included 20-25 surface and subsurface assets including amphibious platforms of the Indian Navy, over 40 aircraft along with associated land based assets of the Indian Air Force, over 30,000 personnel and equipment of the Indian Army and indigenous weapon systems of all services during this important tri-service exercise spread over Rajasthan, Gujarat and the North Arabian Sea between November 3-7.
