New Delhi, November 13 (IANS) Union Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Thursday accused the Congress of playing petty politics whenever there is a terrorist incident in the country and doing the same by linking the Red Fort blast with Bihar elections.
His comment came after the statement of the Karnataka Chief Minister in which he had said in an indirect reference to the Bihar Assembly elections that “the Center should answer why blasts happen only at the time of elections.”
Speaking to reporters in Delhi on Thursday, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi angrily said, “The car blast near the Red Fort area of Delhi has shocked the entire nation. At such a sensitive time, instead of displaying unity and strength, Karnataka Congress leaders are making statements that make it seem as if they are rolling out the red carpet for terrorists.”
Prahlad Joshi said, “What does the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort have to do with Bihar elections? Congress leaders should act more intelligently. They should stop making irresponsible comments and playing cheap politics which only promotes terrorists.”
The minister condemned that even though 12 innocent people died and many others were injured in the Delhi car blast, Karnataka Congress leaders are speaking as if they are insensitive towards human life – calling it a disgraceful act.
“The Red Fort blast and terror attack in the national capital are already being investigated by security agencies. Yet Congress leaders are reaching premature conclusions. Be it the Bengaluru cafe blast or the Pahalgam terror attack, their statements always resonate with Pakistan,” Joshi alleged.
“Whenever there is a terrorist attack in the country, every party should rise above politics, support the actions of the government to crush terrorism and demonstrate national unity. We all should speak in a strong voice against terrorists. But instead of Congress leaders indulging in such petty politics is sad and unfortunate for the country,” Joshi hit out.
