Srinagar, November 13 (IANS) Intensifying action against suspects in the Kashmir Valley after the Delhi terror blast, Jammu and Kashmir Police has picked up more than three dozen people for questioning.
Officials said that some of these people are government employees and they have been caught from Srinagar, Sopore, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian districts.
Jammu and Kashmir Police has intensified surveillance and checking across the valley and new ‘nakas’ (checkposts) have been set up in various districts.
The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted raids at 13 locations during the day in connection with the Delhi terror blast.
The emergence of a white-collar terror module operated by Kashmiri doctors has added another dimension to counter-terrorism operations, as without ‘actionable intelligence’, it becomes impossible for security forces to take action against people engaged in normal activities of life.
This is also proved by the fact that the Faridabad terror module was exposed after the arrest of two overground workers (OGWs) of terrorist organizations. Sustained interrogation of these two arrested OGWs led to the arrest of Dr. Adil Rather of Qazigund and later the entire terrorist module was exposed.
What is a matter of concern is that some professionals whose services were terminated in Jammu and Kashmir due to terror links may have got subsequent appointments in institutions outside the Union Territory without their antecedents being verified by the new employers.
The discovery of otherwise affluent professionals like doctors involved in terrorism has shocked genuine local professionals inside and outside the UT, as they fear facing difficulties due to anti-national activities of others pursuing the same profession.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has assured that no innocent person will be put to trouble, while no one with terror links will be spared.

Local political parties, including the ruling National Conference, are criticizing the Lieutenant Governor’s decision to take strict action against government employees with terror links.
