New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS) On the eve of Bihar assembly election results, JD(U) and its NDA ally Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) expressed full confidence of a decisive victory for the Nitish Kumar-led alliance and said the people of the state have rejected the grand alliance.
Speaking on the exit polls, JDU chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said the mood across the state clearly reflected public confidence in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and lack of confidence in RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
“Looking at the mood of the people of Bihar, no one will accept the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav, who is facing cases in four states – Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi,” he told IANS.
He further said that the defeat of the opposition alliance is certain. Neeraj Kumar said, “He faced a massive defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and it is certain that the Grand Alliance will lose again. Tejashwi is inexperienced and Bihar needs a strong and mature vision, which is possible only under the supervision of Nitish Kumar.”
Expressing similar confidence, LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary said, “NDA is once again ready to form the government with full majority and full strength. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going to take oath as the Chief Minister once again.”
After two phases of voting held on November 6 and 11, counting of votes for all 243 assembly constituencies is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 14. Bihar recorded an unprecedented 67.14 per cent turnout till 5 pm in the final phase – the highest ever in the state’s electoral history. The first phase also recorded a significant increase, with 2.09 per cent higher turnout compared to the 2020 assembly elections.
Particularly high voter participation was seen in districts such as Kishanganj (76.26 percent), Katihar (75.23 percent), Purnia (73.79 percent), and Supaul (70.69 percent), reflecting strong public participation across the state.
JDU leaders believe that this increased voting is a positive sign for the NDA. Neeraj Kumar said, “People have seen development, law and order and stability under the leadership of Nitish ji. The voters of Bihar are intelligent; they want continuity, not anarchy.”
