At least eight people died after a high-intensity explosion occurred in a parked car near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, Delhi Police told CNBC-TV18.
The explosion caused a massive fire which spread rapidly and damaged several vehicles nearby.

About seven to eight cars are reported to have been damaged in the incident.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
Forensic teams and Delhi Police Special Cell are investigating the incident site, while the area has been cordoned off and high alert has been issued across the capital.
