New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS) The Indian Navy will celebrate Navy Day 2025 with a spectacular operational display off the Shangumugham beach in Thiruvananthapuram on December 4, 2025.
This is in continuation of the Indian Navy’s effort to organize events at locations other than major naval stations. Earlier, it was held in Puri in Odisha and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra.
This mega event will provide a unique opportunity to the citizens to witness various aspects of multi-domain operations of the Indian Navy.
“The operational demonstration will showcase the Indian Navy’s state-of-the-art operational platforms and its resolve as the ‘Preferred Security Partner’ in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), guided by the comprehensive vision of OCEAN (Reciprocal and Holistic Advancement for Security and Development in the Regions),” the Defense Ministry said in a press release.
The event will bring to life the Navy’s formidable combat capabilities, technical excellence and operational readiness, reflecting the country’s growing maritime power and self-reliance.
It added, “The operational demonstration will feature coordinated maneuvers by frontline platforms that epitomize the Navy’s ability to deliver power and precision across the maritime spectrum.”
The program will highlight seamless coordination of surface, sub-surface and air assets, reflecting the Navy’s preparedness to secure India’s maritime borders.
Reflecting the vision of a self-reliant India, the exhibit will showcase a range of indigenously manufactured assets representing India’s growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
“These platforms symbolize the Navy’s continuous efforts under the ‘Make in India’ approach to create a modern, technologically advanced and future-ready maritime force. The celebration will also highlight the state of preparedness and deterrence capability of the Navy as demonstrated during Operation Sindoor, which reaffirms its ability to strike with accuracy, speed and dominance.”
The display is a tribute to the professionalism, discipline and courage of the men and women of the Indian Navy who safeguard the country’s sovereignty and maritime interests.
Navy Day commemorates the vital role of the Navy during the Indo-Pak war of 1971, which dealt a decisive blow to the enemy naval and coastal defenses.
Missile boats of the Indian Navy launched a daring attack on Karachi port as part of Operation Trident.
This decisive action demonstrated not only India’s maritime power but also accuracy, courage and strategic brilliance.
Operational Demonstration 2025 will be a celebration of the maritime excellence of the Indian Navy as a combat-ready, cohesive, credible, self-reliant force, protecting the seas for a developed, prosperous India.
