Bettiah, Nov 8 (IANS) Excited voters in Bihar are eagerly awaiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in Bettiah to address an election rally on Saturday, crediting his campaign in the state with a bumper 64.66 per cent turnout in the first phase of assembly elections on November 6.
Bettiah resident Ashok Kumar said that he cannot wait to hear PM Modi’s speech.
He described PM Modi as the creator of India’s prosperous future. Kumar said, “He is the messiah of the poor. The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government has performed well, due to which it will come back to power with a two-thirds majority.”
Sundaran Devi said that she had come to the rally venue to get a glimpse of PM Modi. “I am very happy that he is coming to Bettiah. Incidentally, this is his second visit to the area, and I just want to see him address the crowd.”
He said that the political wave in favor of the NDA will result in the alliance coming back to power in the current elections.
He said, “No matter what the rivals say, NDA government will be formed again due to its good performance.” He said that women voters like him are working towards ensuring the victory of BJP.
Renu Gupta, another woman BJP supporter from the district, said, “It is a matter of pride not only for Bettiah but for the entire Champaran region that PM Modi is coming here.”
He said women are especially excited about the PM’s rally and want him to continue and deliver welfare schemes for them.
Prateek Tiwari, another BJP supporter, said that PM Modi’s arrival in the area is a welcome sign as it will increase the voting percentage, as happened in the first phase of polling.
He said, “PM Modi’s slogan of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas…’ has ensured basic facilities for all people in Bihar without any discrimination.” He said that Nitish Kumar government has also proved to be an inclusive governance.
PM Modi’s rally holds special significance for the BJP and its allies in north Bihar, where the alliance is trying to strengthen its base ahead of the second phase of voting on 122 seats on November 11. The results will be declared on 14 November.
