Statesman blessed with immense vision, intelligence: PM Modi, BJP leaders wish veteran party leader LK Advani on his birthday

New Delhi, November 8 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended warm birthday wishes to senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani and praised him, calling him a ‘politician with great vision and intelligence’. Other BJP leaders also wished the veteran party leader on his special day.

In a heartfelt post on Twitter, PM Modi lauded Advani’s lifelong dedication to the nation and his invaluable contribution to India’s political and cultural landscape.

In a post on Twitter, the Prime Minister said, “Congratulations to Shri Lal Krishna Advani ji on his birthday. A statesman endowed with immense vision and intellect, Advani ji’s life has been dedicated to strengthening India’s progress. He has always embodied the spirit of selfless duty and steadfast principles. His contribution has left an indelible mark on the democratic and cultural landscape of India. May he be blessed with good health and a long life.”

The veteran leader, the chief architect of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s development over decades, turned 98 today. Senior leaders, Union ministers and party members extended best wishes from the political world, remembering his remarkable legacy and statesmanship.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also extended his wishes on the occasion and wrote, “Happy birthday to the senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, our inspiration Bharat Ratna Revered Shri Lal Krishna Advani ji. I pray to God for his excellent health, long life and a happy life.”

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan described Advani as “the epitome of honesty and service in politics” and credited him with developing the BJP as a national force.

He posted, “Many birthday greetings and endless best wishes to respected Shri Lal Krishna Advani ji, the symbol of loyalty and service in politics, who nurtured the roots of the Bharatiya Janata Party and created a huge banyan tree, our guide and source of inspiration! May the blessings of Lord Shri Ram continue to be upon you; may you always be healthy, may you live long and may we all continue to receive your blessings and love – this is my prayer.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined those wishing him well and described Advani as a guiding force for the BJP family.

He posted, “Warm birthday greetings to the senior member of the BJP family and our mentor to all, former Deputy Prime Minister, ‘Bharat Ratna’ Rev. Shri Lal Krishna Advani Ji, who has dedicated his life to the welfare of the country in the spirit of ‘Nation First’! Your life of dedication to the people and organizational skills serves as an unparalleled role model for countless workers. We pray to Lord Shri Ram for your excellent health and long life.”

Advani, who was awarded the Bharat Ratna by President Draupadi Murmu in March 2024, served as Deputy Prime Minister in the NDA government led by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from 2002 to 2004.

He was born on November 8, 1927 in Karachi (now in Pakistan) and started his political journey with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1942 and served as the national president of the BJP several times.
