Patna, Nov 7 (IANS) BJP president and Union minister JP Nadda on Friday hit out at the RJD over “jungle raj” in Bihar and alleged that the opposition party’s previous rule was full of anarchy and scams.

Addressing a rally in Kalyanpur assembly constituency in East Champaran district, Nadda said, “RJD rule was a rule of jungle raj and scams. A large number of heinous crime incidents and corruption have taken place in Bihar. That was jungle raj.”

“Do you remember the Shilpi Gautam case? Shilpi’s body was found in the car of Sadhu Yadav’s close aide. The police hushed up the case. Moreover, BB Biswas, a Dalit IAS officer, had raped his wife, mother, sister and maid. The incident went on for years, and an RJD leader’s son was involved in it. In Siwan, a ransom of Rs 2 lakh was demanded from Chanda Babu. When Chanda Babu refused to pay, two of his The sons were burnt alive using acid, and the police told Chanda Babu to leave Siwan if he wanted to save his life. This was the situation in RJD ruled Bihar between 1990 and 2005.

Describing the assembly elections as extremely important, Nadda said that he has spent 20 years of his life in Bihar and has seen both the tragedy and development of the state.

Listing the double engine government’s development claims, Nadda said 125 units of electricity is now free for consumers.

“There was a time when there was only two hours of electricity a day in Bihar; today there is 24-hour power supply,” he said, urging people to install solar plants under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.

“If your house generates more electricity than you consume, the government will buy that electricity from you and you will also earn income,” Nadda said.

Citing the expansion of airports and rail assets in the state, he said, “10 years ago, no one cared about Darbhanga airport, but now 26 flights operate from there. The new international airport in Patna has also been inaugurated. Five new airports are being built. 20 Vande Bharat trains pass through Bihar, 26 Amrit stations are starting from Bihar, and 98 new railway stations are being built.”

He also mentioned the Rs 27,000 crore 6-lane highway project connecting Raxaul to West Bengal via East Champaran, Sihaul, Samastipur and Banka.

Nadda said that the enthusiasm of the crowd is proof that you have decided to form the NDA government on 14th.

“This election is about moving from the era of lanterns to the era of LEDs. It is about sealing a stable, development-oriented government for Bihar,” he said.

Referring to health schemes, Nadda said that earlier people had to sell land for treatment, but today under the Ayushman scheme, 62 crore people in India are getting free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Senior citizens above 70 years of age were being given coverage up to Rs 5 lakh annually.

On the schemes for women, he said, “Under the Mahila Rozgar Yojana, women in Bihar have been given Rs 10,000 each. Elect the NDA government again and Rs 2 lakh each will be sent to the accounts of women by linking them with self-employment.”

Nadda said 38,000 kilometers of optical fiber has been laid and 8,400 panchayats are connected to the internet.

He said, “Today in every village, YouTubers are analyzing politics in their own language. Ten-fifteen years ago, there used to be 22-hour power cuts in Bihar. Today, there is 24-hour power supply.”
