New Delhi, Nov 7 (IANS) Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday reiterated his allegation of massive “vote theft” in the Haryana Assembly elections, and said he will continue to present evidence to show how the BJP “stole mandates” in the state.
Speaking to IANS, Gandhi said the Election Commission and the BJP have failed to respond to the serious allegations made by him at a recent press conference.
“I demonstrated in my presentation that the Haryana elections were not true elections. There was wholesale theft of votes,” he said.
“The media is picking up on small aspects – like how the identity of a woman matched the photograph of a Brazilian woman who allegedly voted. There was no photograph of the actual voter. What is the reality? The reality is that Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah and the Election Commission are attacking the Constitution,” he told IANS.
The Constitution guarantees “one person, one vote”, Gandhi asserted, “but the examples from Haryana show that this principle was violated. A woman was shown voting multiple times. Even the identity of a Brazilian woman was used to cast her vote.”
Gandhi alleged that similar disturbances are being attempted in Bihar also. “They did the same in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It has become a common practice in Gujarat,” he claimed.
The Congress leader said that he will present more evidence to the public in the coming days.
“The process is on. Narendra Modi became PM through vote theft – and soon there will be no doubt in the minds of people,” Gandhi said, adding, “I have a lot of material. I will continue to reveal the evidence. We will clearly show Gen Z and the youth of India how the BJP steals elections. There will be no doubt.”
