Up to 15 million customers will see their monthly phone bills rise by £30 a year, 40 per cent more than the £21.60 written into customer contracts.
speaking on that itv On the show on Tuesday (November 4), the financial guru hit out at the increase, labeling it a “joke”, warning it could force other network providers to do the same. He urged Ofcom to take action, which said it was “disappointed” by O2’s decision.
Lewis explained how affected customers can opt out penalty-free within 30 days of receiving notice of the increase.
O2 said in a statement, “We appreciate that a price change is never welcomed, but we have been fully transparent with our customers about this change, writing to them directly and providing the right to opt out without penalty if they wish.”
