Bengaluru, Nov 4 (IANS) Karnataka BJP has announced a week-long campaign on the issues of Bengaluru’s garbage disposal problem and potholes.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting with MLAs and MPs, opposition leader R. “We have held a meeting of all the representatives to discuss the problems of Bengaluru. Bengaluru has turned into a garbage city due to the misgovernance of the Congress government,” Ashok said in Bengaluru.
Potholes and heaps of garbage were visible on all the roads, he said, adding that people need to fight against the government which has betrayed the city and it has been decided to observe for a week.
He said that along with this, signature collection campaign will be conducted in every assembly constituency from November 6 to 15.
Ashok said that opinion will be taken from the public on the issue of A account and B account.
“The government has planned to withdraw money from it. The government has no funds for the development of Bengaluru,” he claimed.
He said that there is no need to take such steps to arrange that money. “People can’t afford to pay that much,” he said.
Ashok said that efforts are being made to increase registrations by 5 percent to extract commission.
“Garbage cess has been imposed, which is burdening people. BESCOM is collecting money through OC and CC. If temporary power is obtained, three times the charges have to be paid, and this is being encouraged by BESCOM. People do not want such an expensive brand in Bengaluru,” he claimed.
He said that there is no need to spend thousands of crores of rupees to build tunnelled roads, adding that there is no need to destroy parks like Lalbagh to build roads.
“Earlier, when they planned to build a steel bridge, we had demanded a concrete road. Even now, we are not ruling out tunneled roads. But there is no need to dig a tunnel to provide convenience to Delhi leaders,” he said.
Ashok alleged that 150 types of prices have already been increased.
He said that Karnataka ranks second in terms of farmer suicides, farmers are continuously protesting in Belagavi and Chamarajanagar.
He said that Congress President Kharge and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar should clearly say that no Chief Minister will be changed.
He said, “They should clarify that Siddaramaiah will be the Chief Minister for five years. If he says so, we will remain silent. Even if any one of them becomes the CM, there will be no development.”
