Jaipur, Nov 4 (IANS) Rajasthan BJP state president Madan Rathod stressed that the aim of the ‘Vande Mataram 150’ campaign is not to gain political mileage but to rekindle the spirit of patriotism among citizens across the country.
Rathore announced that the Central government has planned grand celebrations across the country to celebrate the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’.
In Rajasthan, the campaign will be celebrated as a celebration of public participation, with the main state level event taking place on November 7 at SMS Stadium, Jaipur, where thousands of people will join in the mass singing of ‘Vande Mataram’.
District-level programs will be organized in Ajmer, Bikaner, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Jodhpur, Sikar, Bhilwara, and Alwar.
Rathore said, “Vande Mataram means saluting one’s motherland. It is not a political campaign but a national movement to strengthen patriotic values.”
“Our goal is to engage every citizen and awaken a deep sense of national pride. Patriotism should be equally strong in both the ruling party and the opposition.”
He further said, “If anyone still has objections to singing Vande Mataram, it reflects a lack of nationalism. Those who are indifferent to insults to the nation or the army should reawaken their patriotic consciousness. Even today, there are people who are more concerned about personal interests than national duty – such persons need to rediscover the spirit of nationalism.”
Highlighting the broader objective of the campaign, Rathod said that ‘Vande Mataram 150’ is not just a celebration, but a mass movement of patriotism, indigenous values and national unity.
He appealed to the citizens to once again make ‘Vande Mataram’ a symbol of new energy and enthusiasm in the heart of India.
Rathore also told that along with this campaign, the 150th birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda will also be celebrated with great enthusiasm.
He said, “When BJP honors such great personalities, the opposition often looks at it through a political lens. But these events are purely to inspire patriotism. The opposition should also organize such events in the memory of national heroes.”
