According to the report of news agency PTI, a dumper trolley hit several vehicles one after the other in Loha Mandi area and then overturned.
Police reached the incident site and started taking the injured people to nearby hospitals.
Rajasthan Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar has confirmed the death of 13 people in the accident.
“Thirteen people have died. Of the 10 injured, six are here (Sawai Man Singh or SMS hospital) and two are in CKS hospital and two are in Kavatia hospital. The condition of six people admitted here (SMS) is critical and others have minor injuries. A team of our best doctors is treating them,” he told reporters, according to news agency ANI.

Earlier, according to PTI, Jaipur District Collector Jitendra Soni had said that 12 people have died in the incident, while 12 others have been injured.
The accident happened in the afternoon and more than half a dozen vehicles are reported to have been affected after the collision.
Initial reports suggest that the accident may have occurred due to brake failure of the truck. However, eyewitnesses say that the driver was also drunk.
Surinder, whose car was allegedly hit by the dumper, told ANI, “The truck was coming from Loha Mandi side. The truck was at full speed, the driver was completely drunk and he mowed down everyone coming in his way. My car was parked and I was inside the car.”

This is the second road accident in Rajasthan within two days. On the evening of Sunday, November 2, a tempo traveler collided with a truck in Phalodi area, killing 15 people and injuring two others.
