Patna, November 3 (IANS) With only a few days left for the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections, RJD leader and Grand Alliance’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav has confidently announced that he will take oath as the chief minister on November 18, following which political temperatures have risen.
Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, mocking the RJD leader, said, “Tejashwi Yadav said that he will take oath as the Chief Minister on the 18th, he is dreaming again. Just like the dream he saw from November 7 to November 10 after the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, when he thought that he would become the Chief Minister for two days. He is dreaming the same again, but it is a dream that will never come true.”
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also took a dig at Tejashwi, saying, “People will not accept the way Lalu Yadav forced Congress to declare his son as the Chief Minister. The son himself is announcing the day of his swearing-in, but it will be the people who will decide – only then will someone take the oath.”
Addressing an election rally on Sunday, Tejashwi announced, “The results of Bihar Assembly elections will be declared on November 14 and the swearing-in will take place on November 18.”
Expressing confidence in the prospects of the opposition alliance, he said that India Bloc will form the next government in Bihar.
The war of words has come to light amid increased political activity after the arrest of former Mokama MLA and JDU candidate Anant Singh in the murder case of Dular Chand Yadav, a supporter of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party.
Tejashwi also talked about the murder of Dular Chand Yadav, a supporter of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party, and the subsequent arrest of powerful Mokama leader Anant Singh and said that once the India Bloc comes to power, “all criminals, irrespective of caste and religion, will be behind bars within a few weeks.”
As the campaign heats up, Tejashwi’s bold predictions and BJP’s sharp counter-attacks have set the stage for a high-voltage electoral contest with the two sides engaged in a heated exchange ahead of polling day.
Voting will be held in Bihar in two phases on 6 and 11 November, the results of which will be declared on 14 November.
