Patna, Nov 3 (IANS) A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that RJD leaders had put kattas (country-made pistols) on the heads of Congress leaders to force them to declare him as the chief ministerial candidate of the grand alliance, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday criticized the PM’s choice of words and termed it unbecoming of his post.
Speaking to reporters at the Patna airport, Yadav – who is the chief ministerial face of the grand alliance – said the Prime Minister’s language was unbecoming of his office.
Yadav said, “I think he has the mentality and thinking like ‘Katta’, that is why he talks about ‘Katta’. It is possible that the NDA was formed by placing Katta on the heads of his allies in Bihar.”
Yadav said, “PM Modi’s language is not right. What kind of language is this? I have never seen any Prime Minister speaking like this. When he goes to Gujarat, he talks about factories, semiconductor units, IT parks and data centres. When he comes to Bihar, he talks about Katta.”
On the absence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at PM’s Patna road show on Sunday, Yadav said, ‘Everyone knows that BJP will never make Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister of Bihar after the elections.’
During his rally in Arrah on Sunday, the Prime Minister had claimed that there was a major dispute within the Grand Alliance over the CM face and in a closed-door meeting, RJD leaders had reportedly held Congress leaders at gunpoint to accept Tejashwi Yadav’s name as the CM face in the Bihar Assembly elections.
PM Modi claimed that Congress was initially not ready to give the CM post to RJD.
PM Modi had said, “I want to share a secret. Congress was not ready to hand over the chief minister’s post. In a closed-door meeting, RJD leaders allegedly placed ‘Katta’ on the heads of Congress leaders and forced them to announce the CM face.”
Yadav and the RJD used the remarks to hit back at the BJP and the Prime Minister.
