Jobs, Skill Centre, MSME Park, MSP Guarantee: 24 promises in NDA’s Bihar ‘Sankalp Patra’

Patna, Oct 31 (IANS) The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday officially released its joint manifesto – ‘Sankalp Patra’ – for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections in Patna.

The event, held at Hotel Maurya, brought together all the key alliance partners – Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP national president JP Nadda, LJPRV chief Chirag Paswan, HAM patron Jitan Ram Manjhi and RLM president Upendra Kushwaha – symbolizing the alliance’s unity.

The 69-page manifesto outlines 24 promises made by the NDA block.

After releasing the manifesto, senior leaders Nitish Kumar, JP Nadda, Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi left for campaign events, while Samrat Chaudhary answered questions from the media.

He emphasized that the ‘Sankalp Patra’ is not just a list of promises, but a document of confidence, promising that the NDA will take Bihar out of backwardness and into an era of rapid development.

On October 28, just days after the release of the NDA manifesto, the Grand Alliance under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav released its own vision document.

The NDA, which is contesting all 243 seats, has finalized its seat-sharing formula: BJP (101 seats), JD(U) (101), LJP (Ram Vilas) (29), HAM (6), and RLM (6).

Described as a roadmap to “Developed Bihar”, the manifesto includes employment, women empowerment, agriculture, infrastructure and social welfare.

Employment and Economy:

The NDA has promised to create more than one crore jobs and employment opportunities in five years, launch the Developed Bihar Industrial Mission with an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore, set up factories in every district, 10 new industrial parks and modern projects like IT, semiconductor and defense corridors.

It aims to attract investment of Rs 50 lakh crore to make Bihar a global back-end hub and new age economy hub.

Women Empowerment:

Samrat Chaudhary mentioned that the NDA leaders have resolved to convert one crore women into Lakhpati Didis, provide financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh for women entrepreneurs and launch Mission Crorepati to promote women entrepreneurship.

education field:

According to the manifesto, Samrat Chaudhary explained in detail about the NDA’s plan in the education sector and included free education from KG to PG for children from poor families, establishment of model and residential schools in every district and modern skill laboratories.

Farmers and Rural Development:

Chaudhary mentioned that when the NDA forms the government after November 14, it will introduce Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi, offer Rs 9,000 annually (Rs 3,000 per installment) to farmers, guarantee MSP for all crops, invest Rs 1 lakh crore in agriculture, infrastructure and strengthen fisheries and dairy missions for rural development.

Social Justice and Welfare:

The NDA has promised financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh for EBC communities including Tanti, Nishad, Kevat, Bind, Noniya, Mallah, Teli, Kumhar and Lohar. Formation of a high-level committee headed by a retired Supreme Court judge to assess their socio-economic status.

The NDA has also promised five guarantees for the poor people of Bihar, which include 5 kg free ration, 125 units of free electricity to every household, free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, 50 lakh pucca houses and social security pension for all eligible citizens.

Infrastructure and Transportation:

The NDA manifesto mentions starting metro services in Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga and Bhagalpur within five years and creating flood resilience boards for disaster-prone areas, integrating water conservation and fisheries.

Culture and Faith:

The NDA leadership has pledged to develop the Maa Janaki temple as a world-class spiritual destination, which includes setting up a new Sitapuram Spiritual City, Sharda Sinha Arts and Cultural University and Bihar Film City in Sitamarhi.
