Patna, Oct 30 (IANS) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, accusing them of indulging in divisive politics and having no vision for the development of Bihar.

Addressing a large public rally in support of BJP candidate Krishnanandan Paswan in East Champaran’s Harsiddhi constituency, Dhami said the opposition leader was motivated by vote-bank interests rather than governance or public welfare.

“BJP’s governance model focuses on law, order and development – not appeasement or vote-bank politics,” Dhami said. He said the people of Bihar have seen through the opposition’s “divisive tactics”.

Drawing parallels between Uttarakhand and Bihar, Dhami highlighted the measures implemented in his state to curb “love jihad”, religious conversion and unregistered madrassas. He said that if BJP returns to power, similar policies will be implemented in Bihar also.

The Chief Minister also hit out at those who alleged that they make fun of Hindu traditions and festivals. Speaking to reporters after the event, Dhami said, “Those who make fun of festivals like Chhath Puja are insulting Sanatan Dharma and the sentiments of crores of devotees.”

Along with Dhami at the rally, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) national president Santosh Suman also joined in the criticism, saying that Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi “copy promises” without the means or intention to fulfill them.

Suman said, “Bihar does not need a government that will take it back to the days of Jungle Raj. People want stability and progress, not empty promises.”

He also mocked Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of vote theft and challenged him to present evidence. Suman said, “Rahul Gandhi speaks without facts and insults both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhathi Maiya. The people of Bihar will give him a befitting reply.”

The rally comes as part of the BJP’s intensive campaign campaign in key constituencies of Bihar, with senior leaders and allies making high-profile visits to strengthen the NDA’s position ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi faced growing criticism for comments he made during a joint rally with Tejashwi Yadav in Muzaffarpur on Wednesday, where he alleged that Prime Minister Modi would “do anything for votes.”

“Modi ji is not worried about anything right now; he only cares about votes. If you tell him, ‘How do we dance on the stage, and we will vote for you,’ he will dance. He will do anything for votes,” Rahul Gandhi had said, accusing the Prime Minister of doing “drama” around Chhath Puja, one of Bihar’s most revered festivals.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand CM also posted on Twitter: “No appeasement, no harassment. Bihar will elect NDA government once again.”

He talked about addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Krishnanandan Paswan and appealed to the people to vote overwhelmingly in favor of NDA.

Dhami said that the real objective of Congress and RJD has always been to commit scams while in power and fill the coffers of their families.

He said, “He was never concerned about the children of common people – his only concern was always for his own children.”

He said that under RJD rule, Bihar was suffering from jungle raj, where extortion, murder, kidnapping and fear were part of everyday life.

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister said, “Law and order had completely collapsed, Naxalism was at its peak and the poor, backward classes and women had suffered the most.”
