Jabalpur, October 30 (IANS) The three-day Manthan National Executive Meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) started on Thursday in Jabalpur, the cultural city of Madhya Pradesh.
The meeting, aimed at preparing a roadmap for its first mass contact campaign across the country, began in the presence of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and over 400 RSS workers from across the country.
RSS national spokesperson Sunil Ambekar said the meeting began with the lighting of the lamp by RSS chief Bhagwat, followed by the prayer ‘Namaste Sada Vatsale Matribhoomi’.
The three-day marathon meeting, which will conclude on November 1, is part of its (RSS) centenary year.
During the meeting, RSS will discuss the extensive public relations campaign being run by the organization.
It is noteworthy that on October 2, RSS has completed 100 years of its journey and the organization has decided to organize programs in different parts of the country to promote social reform, harmony, social equality and individual freedom.
The meeting will also discuss other events of the centenary year such as interactions with eminent citizens from different walks of life and special programs to be organized by the RSS for the youth during this period.
According to RSS national spokesperson Ambekar, Sangh workers will reach out to every family across the country during the ‘Griha Sampark Abhiyan’ or ‘house-to-house contact’ campaign lasting 25-40 days.
During the campaign, Sangh workers will meet people and inform them about the social work being done by RSS.
During the public relations campaign, people will also be made aware about the ‘Panch Parivartan’ initiative launched by the RSS to bring about social reforms, promote social harmony, social equality and individual freedom in its centenary year.
