Patna, October 30 (IANS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday accused Leader of Opposition (LOP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi of insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhathi Maiya and said that the people of Bihar will give a befitting reply to the Congress and the Grand Alliance in the upcoming assembly elections.

Addressing a public rally in Lakhisarai in support of BJP candidate and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Shah said, “Rahul Gandhi, your workers insulted PM Modi’s mother and you used abusive language against Prime Minister Modi and now you have insulted Chhathi Maiya. This is Bihar, and the people here will give a befitting reply to you and the grand alliance on November 6 and 11. When the ballot boxes open on November 14, the alliance will be wiped out.” Will go.”

Her comments came as LoP Gandhi, while addressing an election rally in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur on Wednesday, launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Modi and criticized his symbolic ‘Yamuna bath’ during Chhath Puja, calling it a sham photo opportunity. LoP Gandhi had said, “There was no Yamuna ji there – just a pond filled with clean water for Modi ji. Clean water was brought through pipes for his photo-op, whereas real India bathes in polluted water.”

The Home Minister also launched a scathing attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and the Congress party and accused them of leading the era of jungle raj and corruption.

Shah said, “Before 2005, the entire Bihar was in the grip of jungle raj. All industries, businesses and trade were closed; only one business was flourishing – kidnapping and ransom. Heinous crimes and murders were rampant under the rule of Lalu and Rabri.”

He credited Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for transforming Bihar after assuming power in 2005.

Shah said, “When you handed over the rule of Bihar to Nitish Kumar, he ended Jungle Raj and started a new era of development. This time form the NDA government again. Our government will build a grand structure on the foundation laid by PM Modi and Nitish Kumar.”

Accusing the opposition of corruption, Shah alleged that both RJD and Congress are involved in large-scale scams.

He said, “Lalu and Rabri committed scams in Bihar. Congress committed corruption worth Rs 12 lakh crore in 10 years. These people cannot do any good to Bihar.”

Shah compared the alleged corruption of the opposition with the clean governance of the NDA.

He said, “Nitish Kumar has been in power for 20 years and Narendra Modi for 11 years and both have not been accused of even a single penny of corruption. Every rupee is spent for the welfare of the poor.”

Throwing light on women empowerment, Shah said that PM Modi’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, launched in response to the killing of tourists in Pahalgam, is a symbol of respect for the women of the country.

He said, “The vermillion of Lakhisarai is not just vermillion, it is a symbol of the good fortune of our mothers and sisters. By naming the operation ‘Operation Sindoor’, PM Modi has increased the respect of women across the world.”

Calling on voters to support the NDA, Shah urged them to see their vote as a vote for the continued development of Bihar.

“Voting in Lakhisarai is on November 6. When you press the button with the lotus and arrow symbol, remember – your vote is not just for an MLA or a minister. Every vote is for the development of Bihar and ending the reign of anarchy under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi,” Shah said.
