Addressing back-to-back rallies in Lakhisarai and Munger districts, he claimed that Gandhi, the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, had insulted ‘Chhathi Maiya’ while criticizing Modi and said that people worshiping the goddess were doing drama.
Taking a dig at Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, he called upon people to press the EVM buttons bearing the NDA symbol with such anger that the tremors would be “felt in Italy”.
Shah said, “Sita Mata had worshiped ‘Chhathi Mata’ in Munger…Rahul Gandhi insulted the goddess because he is ignorant of Indian culture as Italy is his maternal home.”
The Union minister claimed that there was ‘jungle raj’ in Bihar during the chief ministership of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, adding that every vote given to the NDA will bring development in the state.
He alleged, “More than 32,000 kidnappings and 12 major massacres took place in Bihar during the Lalu-Rabri regime from 1992-2004… Nitish Kumar ended ‘Jungle Raj’… But RJD is trying to bring back ‘Jungle Raj’ in the state with a new face.”
Shah alleged that the UPA government committed scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore during its 10-year rule, while no one could point a finger at Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for corruption.
“Lalu Prasad was involved in fodder, land-for-job, bitumen and flood relief scams… whereas under the Nitish Kumar regime, Bihar moved on the path of development and the Center increased the MSP for agricultural produce and strengthened the infrastructure,” he said.
He claimed that during the UPA regime, terrorists created havoc in India without any consequences, while the Modi regime retaliated for every attack by attacking inside Pakistan.
He said, “We will also drive out those infiltrators from Bihar who grab food grains, employment of the poor and are involved in anti-national activities.”
Shah announced that a medical college in the name of Bihar’s first Chief Minister Shri Krishna Sinha would be established in Lakhisarai in the next two years.
Describing Goddess Sita as the “daughter of Bihar”, he said a grand temple would be built at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi at a cost of ₹850 crore and it would be connected to the Ram temple in Ayodhya through a direct train.
He said under the NDA regime, the Center has spent Rs 18 lakh crore on roads, railways, greenfield expressway projects in Bihar, while a Makhana Board has also been set up.
He said the Center has spent ₹9,500 crore on reviving the Barauni fertilizer plant, ₹900 crore on infrastructure projects in Munger and given GI tag to sheared rice of the region.
Shah said 8.52 crore people in Bihar have received free ration, 87 lakh farmers have received Rs 6,000 per year, 44 lakh have received houses and 1.17 crore women in the state have received LPG cylinders.
