Bhopal, Oct 30 (IANS) In a landmark initiative aimed at promoting educational access and social equality, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday transferred over Rs 300 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 5.2 million students under the Integrated Scholarship Scheme.

The formal event was held at Samatva Bhawan, Bhopal and was attended by School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh and Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah.

With a digital click, CM Yadav initiated the transfer of funds, marking an important moment in the state’s endeavor for inclusive education.

Addressing students and the public virtually, the Chief Minister underlined the government’s commitment to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder educational aspirations.

The event was telecast live to schools in all the districts, giving students and teachers the opportunity to witness the occasion in real time.

The Integrated Scholarship Scheme implemented by the Department of School Education under the Integrated Social Security Mission consists of 20 types of scholarships administered by six departments; School education, Scheduled Caste welfare, Tribal welfare, Vimukt, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic welfare, Backward Class and Minority welfare, and Social Justice.

The scheme benefits students from classes 1 to 12 enrolled in government and non-government schools across the state.

District and block-level functions were organized simultaneously, in which eligible students participated in local scholarship distribution programs. MLAs and public representatives participated in these events, thereby strengthening the reach and importance of the scheme at the grassroots level.

The Rs 300 crore distributed includes seven major scholarships of the school education department, such as General Poor Class Scholarship, Sudama Pre-Matric, Swami Vivekananda Post-Matric, and scholarship for children of retired government employees, fatherless girls and the only daughter in the family.

These scholarships were approved and processed through the state’s Advanced Education Portal 3.0, ensuring transparency and efficiency. By integrating multiple welfare departments under one umbrella, the scheme simplifies access and enhances impact, making it a model for educational assistance across the country.
