New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on October 30 and 31 to participate in the National Unity Day celebrations to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

During the two-day visit to the home state, the Prime Minister will lay a wreath at the Statue of Unity and inaugurate a series of development projects in Ekta Nagar, aimed at promoting tourism, infrastructure and sustainable development in the area.

On October 30, PM Modi will flag off electric buses at Ekta Nagar in Kevadiya, another step towards green mobility in the region. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various infrastructure and development projects worth over Rs 1,140 crore, which will reflect the government’s vision of promoting eco-tourism, sustainability and inclusive growth in and around the world’s tallest statue.

The green-lit projects include Birsa Munda Tribal University at Rajpipla, Hospitality District at Garudeshwar (Phase-1), Vaman Vriksha Vatika, Satpura Conservation Wall, an e-bus charging depot with 25 electric buses, Narmada Ghat extension, Kaushalya Path, Ekta Dwar to Shrestha Bharat Bhawan (Phase-2), Smart Bus Stop (Phase-2), a dam replica fountain and GSEC. Quarter.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of several major projects, including the Museum of Imperial Kingdoms of India, Veer Balak Udyan, a sports complex, a rainforest project, jetty development near Shoolpaneshwar Ghat and travelators at the Statue of Unity complex, which will further enhance the visitor experience.

During the event, PM Modi will release a special commemorative coin and a postage stamp worth Rs 150 to mark the historic 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – a tribute to the leader who played a key role in unifying the country after independence.

On October 31, the Prime Minister will lead the National Unity Day celebrations. He will first pay floral tributes to Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity and administer the Unity Day Pledge, reaffirming the nation’s dedication to unity, integrity and internal security. He will then witness the Unity Day Parade, which will include contingents from various state police forces as well as BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB.

This year’s parade will include several special attractions – a BSF marching contingent of indigenous Indian dog breeds like Rampur Hounds and Mudhol Hounds, Gujarat Police horse contingent, Assam Police motorcycle daredevil show, and the BSF camel contingent with its Camel Mounted Band.

The event will also honor five Shaurya Chakra awardees of the CRPF and sixteen gallantry medal winners of the BSF, who have been recognized for their extraordinary bravery during anti-Naxal operations in Jharkhand and anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir. BSF personnel who displayed exemplary courage during Operation Sindoor will also be honoured.

This year’s National Unity Day assumes special significance as the nation is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of visionary leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who created a united India by uniting over 560 princely states.
