Ahmedabad, October 28 (IANS) Just a few days are left for the grand celebration of National Unity Day on the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31; Ekta Nagar of Gujarat is buzzing with extensive preparations.

To accommodate the guests from across the country, the Gujarat government has set up 11 large domes that provide full-fledged accommodation for over 9,000 visitors, including a dedicated hostel for 1,400 police personnel.

Located near the office of the Koeri-Garudeshwar Mamlatdar, these domes are equipped with comfortable beds, charging points, secure luggage stands, clean bathrooms, separate sections for men and women, ventilation and fire safety infrastructure.

In addition to accommodation, the organizers have planned a fully integrated support system: a registration counter, medical first aid centre, and modern toilet blocks, all with continuous water and lighting.

To ensure seamless movement, parking has been arranged for 174 buses, and the entire area is decorated with vibrant fabric decorations, bright lights and festive touches, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

The program will embody Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “States many, Nations one; Society many, India one; Language many, feelings one; Rang many, Tiranga one (Many states, one nation; Many communities, one India; Many languages, one spirit; Many colours, one Tricolour)”.

Under the theme ‘One India, Best India’, the festival will feature a grand moving parade in Ekta Nagar – based on the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi – which will showcase the cultural, social and regional diversity of India. The parade will include 16 contingents of CAPFs and state police forces like BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB and various state units. Medal winning personnel including ‘Operation Sindoor’ heroes of BSF and gallantry award winners of CRPF will also participate.

Ten thematic tableaus from states and union territories including Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Manipur, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand will showcase India’s rich achievements and heritage.

The parade will also include nine military and police bands, four award-winning school bands and captivating performances like NSG’s Hell March, Assam Police’s Daredevil Motorcycle Show and BSF’s Indian Breed Dog Show.

Before joining the parade, the Prime Minister will lay a wreath at the Statue of Unity, where he will be given a guard of honor by contingents of the CAPFs and Gujarat Police. Beyond the parade, a 15-day cultural festival – Bharat Parv 2025 – will be held from November 1 to 15, celebrating India’s unity in diversity.
