Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tarkishore Prasad on Tuesday criticized the alliance, claiming that its manifesto was solely focused on gaining power rather than the development of the state.
Speaking to IANS, Tarkishore Prasad said, “The grand alliance’s manifesto is not based on any real vision. It is all about coming to power. Their vision is personal and self-centred. They have no real concern for the development of Bihar.”
He further said, “His manifesto is nothing more than a bundle of papers. The people of Bihar have already given him a chance. He was in power from 1995 to 2005 and everyone knows how he used that opportunity. He does not deserve another chance to return to power.”
Expressing confidence in the awareness of voters, Prasad said, “This shows that the people of Bihar are well aware. Its result will be clear in the upcoming elections. NDA will win with an overwhelming majority under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.”
With the conclusion of Chhath festival, the election campaign for Bihar Assembly elections has intensified. The political atmosphere in the state is now in full election mode, with leaders from all major parties gearing up for rallies and public meetings across Bihar.
With only ten days left before the first phase of voting, both political parties and alliances are making concerted efforts to connect with voters.
The grand alliance is set to release its election manifesto in Patna today and it is expected to focus on key issues like employment, inflation, education and farmers’ welfare. Meanwhile, NDA is preparing to hold rallies across the state in support of its candidates.
Recently, the Grand Alliance declared Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate for the 2025 assembly elections. Congress election observer and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced this at a joint press conference in Patna, which was attended by chiefs and senior leaders of all the seven constituent parties of the alliance.
