Centre-back Van de Ven scored twice in Sunday’s 3-0 win at Everton to take his tally of goals to five in 13 games for the season.

“Yeah, very pleased with Mikey. I think he’s been fantastic for the club since he signed and he’s made some steps forward this season,” Frank said.
“I think he actually defends even better. I think he’s still very good on the ball, he added goals and header goals, which I’m very happy with. He’s a threat from set-pieces.
“The character and leadership is also growing and as far as I know, we have a good contract with him but definitely I see a player with a big future at the club.
“I think he is happy here, it is very important and we are happy with him, so let’s see what happens in the future.
“I think the most important thing is that he seems to really enjoy his football, he really enjoys his time here, I’m very happy with him, everyone is really happy, so that’s a good sign.”
Frank has changed his line-up in every match since being appointed in June and will make the change for the trip to St James’ Park.
Archie Gray, Pep Sarr, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert are in the running for starts, but the Danish coach reiterated his desire to win silverware at the north London club.
Frank said, “We have some players here who had a great experience winning the Europa League final last year. They are very keen to win more trophies and we want to compete and win. We are definitely going for that.”
“There will definitely be a little bit of rotation as I have basically from game to game because we have played every third or fourth day.
“You need to do that, every club does that if you need to compete and that’s the next thing. If you want to compete over 60 games, you can’t play the same XI for 60 games because there is a risk of injury, fatigue and lack of performance, which naturally happens.
“So, it’s a fine balance to manage, but that’s what we’re prepared for.”
