New Delhi, October 27 (IANS) Major General Yousef Mayuf Saeed Al Hallami, Commander of UAE Land Forces, was given a detailed briefing on ‘Operation Vermillion’ on Monday. An officer gave this information.

The visiting Commander was also briefed about India’s defense capabilities and the Artificial Intelligence road map for the Indian Army by the Director General Information Systems and Army Design Bureau.

The Commander of UAE Land Forces is on a two-day official visit to India from October 27 to October 28. Major General Al Hallami was formally welcomed upon arrival.

The briefing on ‘Operation Sindoor’ for the visiting commander came soon after Defense Minister Rajnath Singh described it as the embodiment of India’s military might and national character.

During the Army Commanders’ Conference in Jaisalmer last week, the Defense Minister said the operation had demonstrated by the troops that their strength lies not only in weapons but also in their moral discipline and strategic clarity.

He said, “Operation Sindoor will go down in history not only as a military operation but also as a symbol of the courage and restraint of the country. The action taken by our forces against the terrorists was consistent with both policy precision and human dignity. The operation is not over. Our mission for peace will continue as long as even a single terrorist mentality survives.”

An official statement said the UAE commander’s visit is set to enhance bilateral military cooperation and explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in the areas of training and capacity enhancement.

Major General Al Hallami’s visit underlines the two countries’ continued efforts to further strengthen and deepen their long-term defense partnership.

The visiting commander will lay a wreath at the National War Memorial on Tuesday. Later in the day, he will visit the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and receive detailed information on various indigenous weapons and equipment platforms.

He will also interact with Dr. Sameer V Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defense Research and Development and Chairman, DRDO.

The Commander will also interact with representatives of Indian defense industries to discuss issues of mutual interest.

The visit of Major General Al Hallami marks an important milestone in the defense cooperation between the UAE and India.

This will further strengthen the already strong defense ties, paving the way for a strong, future-ready partnership in military engagement and regional security cooperation, the statement said.
