Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Monday that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has worked efficiently and cannot be compared with anyone.
The state home minister said, “At present no one in the party can be compared to Shivakumar. He has tremendous capabilities. We cannot comment on him. If there is any leadership, the high command will take the final decision and we will follow it.”
Parameshwara reiterated that Congress leaders are ready to accept any decision taken by the high command.
On Shivakumar’s visit to Delhi on November 11 along with the scheduled visit of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Parameshwara said he could not comment on developments in the party.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will host a lunch for the leaders on November 1.
In his reaction at the lunch, Parameshwara said that November 1 is the Kannada Rajyotsava, adding that if leaders are invited for lunch, then even such a simple event is being criticised.
He said, “We celebrate this day every year. If Siddaramaiah is inviting leaders to celebrate the occasion, it is not appropriate to make a political analysis of it.”
On the claims of possible cabinet reshuffle, Parameshwara said that he has no information about the cabinet reshuffle.
Responding to the question of the Dalit Chief Minister of Karnataka, Parameshwara said that the party high command will consider this matter also.
On Sunday, Shivakumar arrived in Delhi as sources said he would meet national leaders to discuss developments in the state and the upcoming Bihar elections.
