Speaking to PTI News, DGP Sahay said all arrangements have been completed for the National Unity Day celebrations, which will also be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The celebration will be marked by an Air Force fly-past, cultural activities and a massive unity parade with the motto of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
DGP Sahay said, “National Unity Parade has been an integral part of the National Unity Parade for the last few years. Not only in Ekta Nagar, but in every district of our country, this Ekta Parade and Run for Unity will be organised.”

On Monday, Prime Minister Modi urged citizens to participate in the ‘Run for Unity’ on October 31, saying: “Join the Run for Unity on October 31 and celebrate the spirit of togetherness! Let’s respect Sardar Patel’The vision of a united India,” on X (formerly Twitter).

The event aims to represent a shared dedication to the unity and integrity of India by attracting thousands of participants from different states. The youth-oriented campaign highlights the themes of “One India, Self-reliant India, United India, Developed India”.
The program was launched on October 6 by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports on My Bharat platform.
The campaign organizes a number of competitions, including essay and social media reels competitions, in addition to the Sardar@150 Young Leaders initiative.
Additionally, the government has produced a play based on the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which will be staged in Kevadiya. Gujarat, From 30 to 31 October to commemorate his 150th birthday. The 90-minute play by the National School of Drama (NSD) will also be performed in other cities like Ahmedabad and New Delhi.
apart from Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other officials from the Center and Gujarat, including PM Modi, are likely to be present at the launch. According to the Indian Express, the play is a part of Sardar Patel’s 150th birthday celebrations, which will last for two years and end on October 31, 2026.
These initiatives are part of a larger government effort to preserve the legacy of Patel, commonly known as the ‘Iron Man of India’ for his role in uniting more than 565 princely states into the Indian Union, while also directing youth activity and public participation to convey the message of independence and national unity.
