New Delhi, October 27 (IANS) Janashakti Janata Dal national president Tej Pratap Yadav on Monday reacted sharply to the promises of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, saying that all leaders make announcements, but only they have the ability to actually complete the work.
Speaking to IANS, Tej Pratap Yadav said, “All leaders make announcements, but only Tej Pratap Yadav has the ability to fulfill them. Go and see the medical college we have built. I don’t care what other leaders claim.”
Tej Pratap also threw light on the challenges of the people of Mahua in Bihar and said, “People are distressed and troubled, they need employment. Who will become the Chief Minister here depends on the public. The public decides that whoever it will give power to, Jan Shakti Janata Dal will be established here.”
“I have worked a lot in Mahua. Earlier people used to go to Patna for treatment, but now the situation has changed, they get treatment in Mahua itself. I have worked for their betterment. People here want work, want employment, but they do not get it.”
He also talked about infrastructure development in the area, saying, “Mahua did not have proper roads. We have worked on development, including opening medical colleges. Roads will also be built and we will win.”
Tej Pratap Yadav’s comments underline his focus on grassroots development and public service, which is in contrast to leaders who, according to him, act in comfort and make unfulfilled promises.
Earlier on Sunday, RJD leader and chief ministerial face of the grand alliance, Tejashwi Yadav, held a press conference to announce several welfare measures, including doubling the allowance for panchayat and gram kachari representatives and starting pension schemes for former members.
Tejashwi Yadav also said that the Grand Alliance wants only “20 months” to prove to the people of Bihar that positive change is possible.
Accusing the NDA government of corruption, unemployment and industrial neglect, Yadav said, “The people of Bihar are ready for change. They gave 20 years to the NDA, now give us 20 months.”
Bihar Assembly elections are to be held on 6 and 11 November, the results will be declared on 14 November.
